    I know what you mean, but I have to disagree. She doesn't seem to feel very humiliated here.  Notice her sly, suggestive tone of voice when she says "yeah..." in response to him. Very unprofessional way for a proper British matron to address her boss at that time. That's what I love about this scene---how much is left unspoken between the boss and his secretary here.

    For anybody curious, this scene is from Brimstone and Treacle. A bit disappointing honestly. I had hoped for more screen time from Mary MacLeod but this was her only part. For anyone who wishes that he has taken her right there, in the film he is haunted by a past affair with her only because he was caught by his daughter. There is a dream sequence where he starts with Mrs. Holdsworth and then is being ridden by his own daughter.
